The vast majority of new enterprises require investment by other people to be able to launch. These other people might be bankers or venture capitalists or business angels providing finance to sustain the new enterprise until it is financially stable and self-sustainable. Or they might be prospective shareholders providing a different source of funds with different obligations, or they might be individuals or suppliers from whom you want suppliers or services on a contingency basis. Or they might be your first customers who require a special form of convincing to work with a new enterprise with no business track record.
These are examples and the list could be longer but they all have one thing in common – they need to be convinced that your idea and the proposition you are making is good for them and likely to be successful for you both. Learning to make a new business pitch is an essential part of starting a new enterprise; it is important to ‘pitch’ your proposal correctly.
